Mighty Mike

Mike Jackson died and there was no action on this blog. Hmmm. Sales are thru the roof, the memorial was a massive debacle/rousing success depending on who you talk to, MJ was all doped up, and the estate is in shambles. He truly was Mighty Mike!!

On top of his game :

Bonus: Here's a moonwalk tutorial

At least this guy showed some class at memorial:

  1. Can't view the links (other than the moonwalk tutorial), but I do have an opinion. I feel like the world's gone mad.

I always wondered why there are so many people who are soooo crazy about MJ. His Thriller-Bad era songs were great pop songs. Really great. But, still, just pop songs. Nothing profound or crazy-revolutionary. Nothing to be still crazy about 20-some years later. So, this group of people haven't recently gone mad; they've been mad for a while now.

Then, the Jesse Jacksons, Sharptons, etc. I'm not sure whether or not they've been mad all along, but they're sure mad now. I suppose MJ is a black musical icon. From the J5 through Bad, he was certainly black. And that was his peak. No doubt. But in my mind, he sorta turned on his black roots when he made his skin all white-like. Alright. Maybe I'm a bit mad here.

But, finally... The mainstream, regular everyday people have defintely gone mad. I don't think it's just the media's fault. People can think for themselves. But before he died, didn't we all think he was a freakshow? I mean, he had his moment of genius. More than a moment. And more genius than most. But, for a long time since Bad, there's been no genius. Just freakshow. And, when kids are in danger because of your freakiness, aren't we all outraged? So beyond just a freakshow, a dangerous freakshow, who was getting away with his dangerous freakiness. Now that he's dead though, we all go a bit mad, and celebrate his life, how much he'll be missed, what a great man he was. Blah blah blah.

He made some great songs, and one of the best albums of all time.

I don't think he should be disrespected right after he passes on, but for days and days, and now weeks afterward... Come on already.

    (Happy birthday, Robbie.)

  2. Links are right above the embeds, but I'll make them more evident again.

I have more on Mike, but will expound at a later date. Jerry, can I get email updates when someone posts or makes a comment on the blog??

    And, yes, Happy B-day, Robbie!!

  3. I'm not loving blogger. I think I just did the email notifications. Let me know if not.

There should be some sort of indication on the blog page when an old post gets a new comment. Not seeing that.
